100TH FOAL

Eliza Park’s foaling team – headed up by Jess Birnie – does a brilliant job and they reached a milestone of sorts on 1 October with the birth of the 100th foal on farm for season 2010.
Arriving in the wee hours was a bonny BEL ESPRIT colt from the Jetball mare Jezeera, who is, in turn a full sister to Flemington stakes winner Belle Ball and half sister to Shane Fliedner’s nifty 4YO, Tollesprit.
Also by Bel Esprit, Tollesprit won at Flemington and Moonee Valley (beating fellow Bel Esprit and Group One runnerup True Persuasion) earlier in the year and ran international flyer, Starspangledbanner, to less than a length in last year’s McNeil Stakes-G3 at Caulfield.
As for Jess and her team … chins up guys – only another 150 or so to go!
