Takeover Target’s part-owner and budding young trainer, Ben Janiak, lobbed up with a win on Friday (23 July) when Delago Brom 3YO L’Aubaine scored over 1206m at Canberra.
Having his first run for Ben after previously racing out of the Jon O’Connor stable in Adelaide, L’Aubaine fought on strongly to notch up his third career victory.
Out of the Monde Bleu mare Soeur Bleu, L’Aubaine was bred in South Australia by Simon Mancheff.
L’Aubaine’s victory resulted in a two day two state double for Delago Brom following Bellelli’s easy win over 1300m at Rockhampton on Thursday (22 July).
Bred by John Gunning and Shane Gledhill in Victoria, Bellelli is out of the Rancho Ruler mare Miss La La, a Melbourne stakes placed winner of five races, from the family of St Jude.
