Queensland breeders have got another peek at what they can
expect when Written Tycoon shifts north for the 2012 breeding season.
His 2YO filly, Write Cheek, was stepping out for her fourth
start at Doomben last Wednesday, having finished second at Doomben in November
before resuming with a fast finishing third in the $140,000 2YO Fillies
Handicap at Scone on 19 May.
But the issue was never in doubt at Doomben last week when
the Liam Birchley trained youngster settled in second before scooting away to
score by almost five lengths over the 1110m journey … much to the delight of
those who backed her into $1.80 favouritism.
Bred in Queensland by Heinrich Bloodstock, Write Cheek is
out of the Jetball mare Kacheek. Somewhat astutely, Heinrich Bloodstock
purchased Kacheek in foal to Written Tycoon for just $8,000 and sold Write
Cheek as a yearling for $100,000 at Session 5 of last year’s Gold Coast Magic
Millions.
No, you idiot ... it's Write Cheek! |
