Not only is she is
extremely personable, she’s also a very successful racehorse owner: her first
horse was the brilliant filly and 4-time Group One winner, Alinghi, while –
from memory – Karen’s first three or four horses were all winners.
Well, the air
hostie – oops, Flight Attendant – appears to be flying high again with the
launch of her online handbag store, Bag Queen (www.bagqueen.com.au)
Offering a wide
range of bags, Karen has named each of the lines after racehorses, including
one named after stakes winner and Eliza Park resident, Sharkbite.
Evidently the
‘Sharkbite’ comes in Royal Blue, Soft Grey, Purple and Hot Pink whereas our
Sharkbite just comes in Brown.
One thing’s for
sure though – if Karen’s Sharkbites are as popular as the four legged variety
(which sold for up to 8 times service fee at 2012 sales and have landed in
leading stables) then she’s bound to be on another winner.
Stop Press:
Evidently a couple of notables were toting BagQueens at yesterday’s Spring
Fashion Lunch: although I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t invited … again!
