SHARKBITE’S FIRST FOALS

Redoute’s Choice stallion, SHARKBITE, has been hugely popular since his arrival at Eliza Park and level of interest is bound to intensify with the arrival of his first foals.
Grange Thoroughbreds’ Kylie Wood – who moonlights (very convincingly) as a photographer – snapped off some pics of two Sharkbite foals and, as you can see, ‘dad’ is clearly throwing them to type.
The first of the foals is a snappy colt from the Falvelon mare, See The Angels, a half sister to multiple Group winner Here de Angels, while the second is of the filly from Anabaa mare, Pikea, whose dam is a sister to Group One winner Ancient Song.
A blue-blooded stakes winner (purchased for $800,000 as a yearling) from the family of European sire sensation, Dansili, Sharkbite covered 71 mares in his first season at NSW’s Byerley Stud before shifting south to Eliza Park.
He continues to receive strong support from shareholders – Jonathan Munz and Debbie and Joe Throsby – but importantly, plenty of interest is being generated from a growing band of Victorian broodmare owners.
