Following on from the wins of Chinzia and Miss Written on Tuesday and Wednesday, Written Tycoon had another one of his consistent performers salute at Newcastle on Saturday when Xatel Ekwa (ex. Solar Song by Flying Spur) scored over 1500m for trainer Craig Carmody.
A year older brother to the multiple stakes placed juvenile, Andre Roo Hoo, Xatel Ekwa has now raced on three occasions for two wins and a third.
Meanwhile, Robert Heathcote’s 3-time city winner, Trump (ex. Queenie by Black Minnaloushe), went within a head of registering his first stakes victory when second to Morning Captain in the Listed National Jockey Celebration Queensland Day over 1350m at Doomben.
