Bel Esprit produced three winners on
Saturday, each with their own degree of import … particularly to the respective
connections.
However, City of Song’s victory at Moonee
Valley is of particular significance to her owner and breeder, Colin Beggs.
The mare has now won two in a row at Moonee
Valley and looks to have regained the form that carried her to stakes victory
as a 2YO. Saturday’s win has also taken her earnings well over the $300,000 mark.
That figure will hopefully be well and
truly enhanced come Wednesday when Colin will sell, via the Eliza Park draft, a
Fastnet Rock half sister to City of Song at the Australian Easter Yearling
Sale.
Out of the stakes winning Umatilla mare,
Songs of Vienna, the City of Song half will enter the ring as Lot 319 (below).
