ATTRACTIVE PROSPECT

Might be worth keeping an eye out for the Robbie Griffiths’ trained Vain Attraction (above) in the Gucci Stakes at Flemington tomorrow.
The Bel Esprit filly missed the kick badly on debut at Ballarat on 20 October and shifted out on straightening for home, but still ran out an emphatic winner over the 1000m.
It’s a bit of step up to Flemington on Oaks Day, but Griffiths can extract the best from the Bels and she should give a good account of herself.
Bred by Peter McVean – who has also retained a share – the filly is owned by David Macciocca, Scott McRae, Murray Parker, Michael Birch, Eugene Lafontaine and Anthony Paterra.
Hailing from the stakes winning Centaine mare, Centennial, Vain Attraction is a full sister to 6-time winner Beau Esprit.
Facing Vain Attraction is the Gucci however is another promising Bel Esprit in Bolisimo Miss, winner of three from five.
After winning three on the trot last campaign, Bolisimo Miss was fifth, when resuming, at Caulfield on 12 October after running into more trouble than Flash Gordon.
