TAXING WIN

It had to be the omen bet of the week, didn’t it? Just days after Parliament legislated the Clean Energy Bill, Globalwarmnsceptic pops his head up at Moonee Valley on Friday night, taking out the Sportingbet Handicap (1000m).
It was the Bel Esprit 5YO’s fifth win from only 13 starts for the Lloyd Kennewell stable who won on debut early last year and has subsequently peeled off victories at Murray Bridge, Oakbank and Morphettville.
On Friday night Globalwarmnsceptic shifted in on jumping but quickly strode to the lead and ran them ragged, scoring with a panel and a half to spare.
Bred by Kirkliston Stud in South Australia, Globwarmnsceptic is out of the Export Price mare Shirley’s Toy, a half sister to the dam of Group Two winner Extra Zero and stakes winners Operetta Lass and Johan’s Toy, and a granddaughter of Golden Slipper winner Toy Show.
