Following on
from the disappointment of two city seconds last Wednesday, including a near
miss for promising Brisbane sprinter Man of Money, God’s Own bounced back with
a double in Victoria yesterday: winning the first at Sale and the last at
Wangaratta.
Expect to hear
a whole lot more from the 2YO filly, Thunder Rain (ex. El Fayze by El Moxie)
who was stepping out for the first time over 1108m at Sale and scored a
comfortable win after jumping from the widest barrier.
Bred by Chris
Dycer in South Australia, Thunder Rain is trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon
Zahra (pictured below) who have successfully raced a number of God’s Own progeny including the very
smart Utah Saints.
Keep your eye
out for this gal.
Meanwhile,
Andrew Noblet’s Terpsichore (ex. Rain Dance Lady by Jugah) also had to contend
with the widest barrier before stretching out in fine fashion over 1400m at
Wang, notching up a well deserved victory.
It was the
first win for the flashy bay but she has now finished in the top four in 10 of
16 outings – the majority of those in Melbourne.
