Magnus’ most accomplished runner to date –
5-time stakeswinner Platinum Kingdom – was bred by a West Australian and, from
the looks of it, another of his rising stars is making a name for herself in
the state capital.
On Saturday, in the Westspeed Handicap over
1200m at Belmont, Magnifisio produced her most dominant run to date, slipping
clear to score by over three lengths as favourite.
Winning as a 2YO at Belmont last July,
Magnifisio was again a winner at Ascot in February before being given a short
letup by master mentor, Jim Taylor.
Since resuming though, Magnifisio has won
both her outings at Belmont and looks to be well on track for black type glory.
Magnifisio is out of the stakes winning Key
Business mare, Ifestio, a sister to the Group One winner Barakey.
