BEL’S DREAM PERFORMANCE

While a Bel Esprit 2YO won the first in Brisbane, it was one of his mares that captured the glory in the last in Melbourne when Angela’s Dream took out the Le Pines Funerals Handicap over 1400m at Sandown.
All up, it was a mighty impressive performance from Pat Carey’s 4YO given that she was forced to race three wide without cover and had to be restrained to avoid the heels of Bitola, who was first across the line, but lost the race on protest.

Angela’s Dream is out of the Scrupules mare, Pentaya who has produced six winners – among them the Ballarat Cup winner Varsilayos who was also trained by Carey.
