God’s Own has continued his steady climb up
the ladder with another double today via two promising fillies in the shape of
We Own An Angel and Angel Suez.
Firstly, the Curtains who race, We Own An
Angel, must reckon they nailed it with the name, following the 3YO’s win at
Ballarat, getting up in a thriller over the 1000m. Out of the Spectrum mare,
Prism Lass, We Own An Angel is trained by Robbie Griffiths and has now put
together two wins since resuming, following on from her third on debut.
Patrick Payne’s Angel Suez was having just
her second start when racing at Terang and, despite coming from the widest
barrier, won with a bit to spare over 1406m.
Looks to have a bit of class this gal given
that she raced erratically on debut when third at Warrnambool a couple of weeks
back. Angel Suez is out of the Zabeel mare Pleasant Change, a half sister to
Group One Brisbane Cup winner Piachay and the Melbourne Group winner Utility.
