MAKING A QUID WITH CLANGALANG

Clangalang 4YO, Quid Pro Quo, has really come into her own this campaign with a sparkling win over 2040m at Morphettville on 6 January.
Although Quid Pro Quo’s six runs prior to resuming in November were pretty much a mixed bag, she appears to have grown another leg this time around with a third at Balaklava, third at Murray Bridge and second at Morphettville leading into Wednesday’s win.
Like so many of the Clanaglangs she’s improving – dramatically – as she matures. Hardly surprising when you consider that Quid Pro Quo is out of the Kenny’s Best Pal mare, Concluding, whose only other runner is the 5-time winner Moment in Time, victorious in the SAJC Auraria S-G3 (1812m) and VRC St Leger-LR (2800m) and runnerup in the SAJC Australasian Oaks-G1 (2000m).
Bred by PJ & Mrs EM Mittiga, WA & Mrs RP Blythman – who also part own the mare – Quid Pro Quo is trained by Jim Smith.
We’ll never get sick and tired of saying at, but Clangalang continues his great run with a winner on 2 January (Luvbite), a stakes placed second on the third (Geegees Blackflash), a whisker second on the fourth (Lady Jodalyna), a winner on the sixth (Quid Pro Quo) and a second on the seventh (Duplify).
Note that John Gunning’s Buzabout is going around in tonight’s Essendon Fields Handicap at Moonee Valley, fresh from a win at Stony Creek on 28 December.
