According to those thousands of space cadets who have bumped into ‘The King’ at the local supermarket since he – ‘allegedly’ shuffled off this mortal coil in August 1977 – Elvis Presley will celebrate his 75th birthday today (8 January).Probably celebrating by choking down four scoops of ice cream and six chocolate chip cookies – again allegedly his last meal – ‘The Pelvis’ has sold over a billion records and however much fun we like to make of him, he was clearly in a stratosphere of his own.
