The Group Two Perth Cup victory of Talent
Show on New Year’s Day was cause for celebration in more ways than one.
The Jeune mare was sold as a yearling at
the 2008 Melbourne Premier by Eliza Park to Belmont Bloodstock for $100,000
before being sold three years later to John Chalmers Bloodstock.
Talent Show is out of the Oregon mare,
Oregon Seal who is also the dam of Bel Esprit 3YO, Bel Seal, who followed up a
Moonee Valley third on debut with a cracking win at Cranbourne last Friday (28
December). Two winners – one of them at Group Two level – in five days is no
mean feat!
Well, Eliza Park has been given the
opportunity to prepare and present a full sister to Bel Seal and half to Talent
Show at the 2013 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale on 5 March when she enters the
ring as Lot 563.
And while there is sure to be plenty of
interest in the filly, there’s another Bel Esprit miss in the Eliza Park draft
that day that will garner he own share of attention. Lot 447 is a Bel Esprit
filly out of Jezeera and just happens to be a full sister to excitement machine
and current $2m Magic Millions 2YO Classic favourite, Clevadude.
