Any dread that Bel Esprit might suffer from
a New Year’s hangover was quickly dispelled with the champion sire kicking off
2013 in pretty much the same fashion as he waved goodbye to 2012.
In the first three days of the year Bel
Esprit has produced five winners, commencing with a city treble on Tuesday and
following up with a running double yesterday.
Exciting debutante, Bel Casa (ex. Flying
Foxtrot by Fusaichi Pegasus), was first cab off the rank with a near three
length romp at Morphettville, while Belfast Boy (ex. Fast Dolly by Bureaucracy)
notched up win No. 6 and almost $300k with his flying finish at Flemington.
Perth sprinter, Babieca Noire (ex. French Snip by Snippets) rounded out the
troika with his fifth win, scoring well at Ascot.
Meanwhile, at Kyneton yesterday, the
appropriately named Tinderbel (ex. Flint by Fasliyev) scored her maiden victory
and, a race on, Bel Gold (ex. Honey Bouquet by Last Tycoon) grabbed the money
as favourite over 1450m.
